Staging Mistakes to Avoid When Selling Your Home

We have been working with several great South Florida Realtors and have learned quite a few great tips about home staging over the years.

Home Staging Services for Fort Lauderdale and Miami Realtors

When staging a home, you want to give people a way to envision themselves in the home; to see a home’s potential. You want it to look tastefully decorated so that buyers are eager to move in!  Having the wrong staging style or techniques can actually do more harm than good, so it’s very important to have a staging company who knows what to do… and what NOT to do.

As we mentioned in the article, Staging Mistakes to Avoid When Selling Your Home, on Redfin.com,  a major mistake you will want to avoid is using the wrong furniture and decorations. This can cheapen the look of the home, which is exactly what you DON’T want to do.

You’ll want to use furniture that fits the home and isn’t too small or too large for the space. The wrong style of furniture, such as pieces that are too bold, or adding too much décor can often devalue the features of a home you want to highlight. You could also risk making the staging area look too cluttered.

Not taking time to ensure the property is in pristine shape is another mistake to avoid. Make sure to have the house (and the staging furniture) perfectly clean before showing the house.
