Summer vibes are coming your way!
The summer is almost here! While we all make plans of long days on the beach, by the pool or on the patio, let’s get some summer home décor inspiration.
This year we are loving the look of crisp white and natural rattan. For a little fun we sprinkle in some soft blues and turquoise paired with warm beachy coral tones. We love the indoor/outdoor living that we hear so much about. But how do you achieve that look?
The idea is to use more “real furniture” and décor outside to make it feel less like typical lawn furniture and more like stylish and trendy indoor pieces. Look for furniture that look like an extension of your home. A lot of stores now make outdoor rugs and pillows that hold up really well outside. Look at some stores for inspiration and depending on your budget pick a few key items that will help bring your look to life. Think less about the specific items, and more about the vibe you want. Here are a few of the items we love right now.
Serena & Lily is probably our favorite store for summer inspiration. This year we love all the wicker trends and Serena & Lily’s Pacifica collection is stunning yet relaxed. If you want to freshen up your outdoor set, consider adding just two chairs in the wicker style. We are not huge fans of completely matching sets. Mixing and matching a little adds character and makes spaces feel more casual and relaxed.
Here is a more affordable collection from Target. We love outdoor furniture that looks like you just brought it from inside your home. We love the idea of finding a round table to pair with these chairs. Somehow, round chairs feel very casual, right?
Ballard design have this fresh new Bermuda Collection. It mixes white and wood with classic design and makes us dream of long days outside lounging with a cocktail.
This dreamy console is super versatile and perfect for any dining room, entry or patios.
We like to pair a console with a beautiful lamp and baskets or candles for a relaxed an inviting feel.To get the look, you can look for a simple console and paint it with crisp white paint. Upgrading boring hardware goes a long way. We love these from Anthropologie.
You can find inexpensive baskets at IKEA:
This is great for holding baskets, pillows, magazines etc. Whatever you may be bringing outside 🙂
You do not have to add seashells and nautical references just to get a beachy vibe. Adding textures and beachy colors are subtle ways to make your home feel summer fresh.
Zara has amazing textiles for the home. Their tablecloths and linen sheets are so beautiful. The jury is still out on whether linen sheets are soft enough to sleep on, but they sure look amazing.
Another way to get a beachy vibe on a budget is to add décor in natural materials. We love this rug, it gives a big beachy bang for your buck:
